Sneak Peak of the cherry blossoms

Last, last weekend, I went to Jinhae and Busan with my boss, Ann, and her family.  I really like my boss and I wish there wasn’t a language barrier between us.  It takes much longer to really get to know someone when they speak another language.  Oh, and she is shorter than me.  You probably never thought of such a thing, but yes, maybe by a few inches.  However, she almost always wears heels, fierce heels, and exudes a powerful sense of confidence.  Lets just say she is a good woman to have on your side.

She invited me to go with her family to a cherry blossom festival in Jinhae, which is about 2 hours south of Ulsan.  So, I rode with her and her family in there (American) Chrystler something.  Which means, it was very expensive because it’s an American car.  Ann has 2 daughters, one, Alice, is 14 and a freshman in high school.  She is “very genius” and a tomboy.  The other is Anna, who is about 8 or 10.  She is not as genius, but a comedian.  She cracks jokes left and right and seems to be a little spit fire.  Anna seems to get her Humor from her dad.  I don’t remember his name, but I remember his nickname, “Mr. Bean.”  Yes, like the British silly Mr. Bean.  Apparently he can be a little slow but really just goofy (but more witty) like Mr. Bean.  He’s pretty funny.  Again, I only get half the jokes due to not knowing the language, but sometimes body language can say it all.  I had a good day with them.  We saw some cherry blossom trees in Jinhae and were said to only be about “40% open.”  So really we should have gone the next weekend.  After Jinae, we drove over to Busan.  This would be my second time to Busan.  This time I learned that Busan is a very wealthy area and a very large area.  It’s a big dense city, with skyscraper housing pushed right up to the manmade coast.  It’s a beautiful town, but I am beginning to see that no matter where you go in Korea, its all pretty much the same.
We ate at a very tasty restaurant where we ate bulgogi fuku.  Which means literally, “grilled meat blowfish.”  Yup, grilled blowfish.  And it was delicious!  Soft and tender, not too fishy.  The main dish was much like red curry dish.  A little sweet and really spicy, but not heavy.  It was so good.  My mouth was on fire and I was sweating, but it was just so good!  Best thing I have eaten here so far.  After eating, we walked around the coast.

Here are some photos (sorry its just me):

Jinhae, here i am
