Multi Cultural... yet again

A couple weekends ago there was a "World Music Festival here in Ulsan.  Which is awesome for a number of different reasons: 1. live music is always a plus, 2. "world," need i say more, 3. It's in Ulsan!

For once we didn't have to travel somewhere to experience something awesome!  It was so refreshing to see live performances and not have the sound all wonky and off.  It was so wonderful to hear and be around multiple cultures.  I realized as much as the US has its own culture, it is really, "the melting pot" of the world.  We (Americans), on a daily basis, can experience American, Mexican, Indian, Native American, European... and many others.  Whether we want to or not it happens.  Well, here in Korea.  You get Korean all day every day.  Really.  However, there is on occasion that you go to Namaskar (an Indian restaurant with delicious Chicken butter curry that im addicted to), or maybe get some semi-Italian meal, or some Korean-American dish.  Yes I'm talking mostly food.  All in all it was one refreshing weekend that had all kinds of music, and with all kinds of fresh faces, way beyond the musical spectrum that K-pop brings.

Some of the bands were from South America, Spain, New Zealand, Northern Europe, and Africa.  Overall it was a great weekend with pretty decent music (props to Korea, I didn't know they had it in them!).  Here are some photos from the weekend:

My new car... *cough*  i wish, as i wondered how in the world this beauty got to Korea

I felt like i was a lone cowboy trailing through the desserts of Utah full speed while there was a never ending sunset.  Anything to make the moment more epic.

The Korean woman's hat in front of me.

I dont know who this guy is, but he seems like the mascot.

We were really excited to see fall colors

This band blew my mind.  It shattered all of my thoughts about Korea.  Its a big brass band and the lead singer had amazing dread locks! They played like funk, reggae type music.   I almost couldn't take in this moment i was so excited and so taken back.  I didn't know people in Korea could be SO different.  It so not the way things are here.

My friend Bethany and I.  She works part time at my school.
