Red of death

So the other day i had an a mental breakthrough.  When my elementary students forget to put their names on their papers I will start to write their name in red.  All of a sudden they will freak out and shout, "Noooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!"  Like they are about to die.  Well, in Korea, they are about to die.  Red is a color of death here.  Many Koreans (mostly mothers) believe that if you name is written in red you will have horrible luck or even die.  I am not very clear on what they actually believe, i just know it refers to death.  I have known this for awhile, but my mind finally clicked the other day when i started writing my second graders name on his paper.  It hit me, and then I told him, don't tell your mother.  I crossed it out and wrote it in purple.
